Leeds Stained Glass Studio is a well established professional business run by Michelle Jordan.
Michelle first got involved with stained glass when a Master Glass Painter came to teach on the Fine Art degree course she was taking. Following a few years teaching art in Manchester Michelle returned to Leeds and set up Leeds Stained Glass Artists in 1991 with the help of a start up grant and her Dad, Brian.
Then an opportunity came along to work in the stained glass departement of P.Elliff and Sons, Glass Merchants of Mabgate, Leeds . Learning the trade from the bottom up meant a smooth transition to full self employment when Elliff's closed down after nearly a century of trading.
Michelle and Brian have made and fitted many windows for domestic homes, public buidings and churches. Her most recent major work is a memorial window to a young Leeds lad tragically killed in a motorbike accident in Italy. The window is now sited in the family chapel in Cassino, Italy.
